Built to take on high-powered species such as steelhead, musky, blue cats, and striped bass, the brand new MonsterTM reel gets its name from its very large spool that is capable of launching the baits that entice these battling beasts – while providing the line capacity to keep up with the line torching long runs they often make.

Monster holds 210 yards of 14-pound test line on a relatively low profile frame. It’s  built of tough aluminum, and protected by Saltguard 2.0, which contains a Quantum exclusive SCR Alloy that is free of impurities that lead to rust in lesser built reels. The SCR Alloy is then covered in Quantum’s proprietary coating process to further prevent rust and assure long-range performance.

Inside Monster’s salt-protected chamber is a Performance Tuned Carbon Stainless Ceramic (CSC) drag system that resists heat and warping when a monster steelhead or musky makes a line-testing run away from the boat. Furthermore, speaking of drag, Monster delivers a best-in-class 23 to 26 pounds of lockdown, and up to 34”of line pick-up with every turn of the oversized 95mm handle.

Available in both right and left-handed models, in 7.1:1 and 6.4:1 gear ratios, an internally housed centrifugal braking system allows for precision cast control, and a heavy duty brass main gear, pinion and drive shaft assure smoothness and long term I-beam like durability.

Greg Hackney is one of the most accomplished pro bass anglers in history, and he doesn’t mince words. He’ll tell you what he likes – what’s good – and well … what isn’t – and Hackney recently called the new Quantum Smoke HD he’s been testing “quite possibly the finest reel Quantum has ever built.”

Built with a really large 200 size spool that holds 180 yards of 12-pound test, on a compact frame, the new Smoke HD has the body of a sports car with 1-ton diesel truck’s pulling power that makes it ideal for deep crankbaits, Alabama Rigs, or like Hackney will tell you, just about anything you want to use it for.

Available in 7.3:1, 6.6:1 and 5.3:1 - from pitchin’ and flippin’ to deep cranking and chatterbaits in between, its three wide-ranging gear ratios will lend every angler the perfect speed for any lure.

Gears are housed inside an aluminum frame and side cover that is even protected by corrosion fighting SCR™ alloy, making Smoke HD not only the best reel Hackney says he’s ever used for bass fishing, but also one worthy of inshore saltwater trips he loves to take to his beloved home state Louisiana coastline.

Whether you take Smoke HD in search of bass or bull redfish, a 7 bearing system anchored by 2 PT Speed Bearings promises smooth operation, and a noticeably oversized 95mm handle with large, comfortable EVA padded handle knobs lend a confident feel worthy of one of the best bass anglers in history calling Smoke HD the best reel he’s ever fished with.  Available now at select retailers!

Using the most compelling production technology available, Quantum’s new Throttle is the product of a whole new way to build a spinning reel in an all aluminum uni-body construction, versus a 2-part reel.

The design keeps all key components in one Reel Engine™, which leads to more precise alignment of the gears for a smoother more durable reel at a shockingly low price.

Priced at a hard-to-believe $59, the single housing concept of Throttle’s production allows all its internal parts to move freer and last longer.

Thanks to a rubber ‘braid band’ anglers can tie braided line directly to the spool with no monofilament backing necessary, and the uniquely designed MaxCast II spool offers superior casting distance because it reduces friction by eliminating line contact with the front edge of the spool.

Featuring a total of 10 bearings, Throttle comes in sizes 20 and 30, and is also available as a combo with a 2-piece, IM8 high modulus graphite rod for around $79.

Available in both right and left hand models, and made of lightweight graphite construction, Quantum’s TeamKVD series of rods and reels ties bass fishing’s all time money winner’s name to a rich looking series of rods and reels with a very affordable retail price that begins at just $79 for the reel, or a combo for $99.

While the price is incredibly smooth, anglers will also be quick to feel the goodness of a free floating pinion design that offers-up incredibly friction free operation for longer casts.

Each TeamKVD reel features 8 bearings, and a very lightweight aluminum spool. The 7.3:1 gear ratio model puts 31” inches of line back on that spool with every turn of the handle. The 6.6:1 model picks up 28” of line per turn of the handle.

An external magnetic cast control helps anglers dial-in to match lure weights and wind conditions, and a carbon fiber/stainless drag system will provide smooth yet powerful pulling power.

Also offered in the latest TeamKVD series are good looking graphite composite rods with split grip EVA handles. When paired with a TeamKVD reel, the combo sells for an amazingly affordable $99, and consumers will receive a free backpack embroidered with the TeamKVD logo.

Quantum’s new Pulse provides a very affordable $49 baitcasting reel packed with high-end features like an external magnetic cast control, a floating pinion gear, and an oversized 90 mm handle.

Made of lightweight graphite, Pulse features a free floating pinion gear that allows the spool shaft to float freely during a cast for far less friction and better casting distance.

Pulse packs 5 bearings, and an external magnetic cast control adjustment, complimented by brake magnets located beneath the side cover that work in unison to control backlashes.

Available in both right and left hand models, each Pulse features continuous anti-reverse, and the oversized handle adds to all day comfort.

But perhaps most comfortable is the price – for around $49 this will be one of the greatest values for sure among new baitcasters offered in the later part of 2015.
