Omega® Pro Spincast Reel is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from From bream to Jack Crevalle I have been a long time user of Zebco 33 reels, since the early 1980s. My dad gave an Omega to me as a birthday gift because he bought one and liked his so much. I was reluctant to use it because of the price of it, but he finally coaxed me into trying it. All I can say is it is incredibly smooth. I live in southeast Louisiana so I have the ability to fish fresh (brackish) and saltwater in the same spot- literally. A few weeks ago, my friend and I were catching bass and speckled trout when I felt a hard thump on my Shu-Shu (the lure I use). I set the hook and my rod bent into a "U". I quickly loosened the drag and it began to sing. We were fishing in my 9 feet Bass Hound and the fish began pulling the boat- it ending up pulling us half a mile. I fought the fish for about twenty minutes on the stock line that came pre-installed on the reel and was able to land a Jack Crevalle in a trout net (his head barely fit in it!). I am pretty sure that if I had hooked this fish on one of my 33s, it would have been a different outcome. My dad and I will be converting to Omegas whenever we need to replace a 33.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this reel Was given this reel as a retirement gift. I didn't think much of it after all it's a spin cast reel. Wow was I wrong, this reel is a blast to use its extremely easy to use and very smooth. Never any line loop, tangles. I've used it now for about a year and would recommend this reel to anybody.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great real, but they don't last. I got one of these for my kid last year. After catching hundreds of Spanish mackerel and using the heck out of it while visiting mexico, he left it out leaning against the shop all winter in Montana. Well, this spring when the snow melted, we found it, but now it's rough. I was pretty disappointed. A real this expensive should be able to survive a winter or two outdoors in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Omega 2 Property Cast I've used Zebco 11 micro for years, but would have to replace them every couple of years. This Omega 2 is heftier, smoother casting, smoother retrieving, & I'm pretty sure it'll be longer lasting

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Zebco Omega reel better than expected Great reel. Took a chance bass fishing with this reel since I don't like the bait casters. Everyone told me it wouldn't hold up. Tell that to the 8 pounder I have on my wall !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best reel I've ever used I grew up using Zebco spincast reels. I've continued using them all my life. The Zebco Omega Pro 3 is the most expensive reel I've ever purchased, but it is hands down the best reel I've ever used. Casting is far and smooth, retrieval is incredibly smooth. The drag system is accurate and works perfectly. I love the easy to swap line spool setup and the ability to swap between a single and dual crank handle. Overall well worth the investment! The reel helped me wrangle in a beautiful 30" northern pike a couple weeks ago without breaking a sweat.

I read on Walmart's website description of the ZO2 & ZO3 Omega Pro reels: "the displayed country of origin info may not be accurate or consistent with product packaging or manufacturer's info." Are they made here in the U.S.A.?

Asked by: lifelong fan of Zebco
These are made in China

Is the duel paddle handle just for personal preference or are there disadvantages and advantages to each?

Asked by: Hunter
Some of it is personal preference, however there are some differences. 1) The single handle actually has a longer handle (axis of gear to axis of knob) so you get a little more cranking force. 2) The single handle uses a foam EVA knob which is lighter, and some people prefer the feel of that material compared to soft-touch rubber. 3) Some people prefer the dual-knob because if their hand is off the handle and they suddenly need to crank quickly, it is easier to find the handle knob if there is 2 of them!

We would recommend the 3 size as it would be closer to the line size you would need for your fishing.

What don't we ever see a pro use the zebco reels

Asked by: Lamb4
Largely because gear ratios are too slow in spincast reels, made by any brand, to accommodate lures and techniques used by professional bass anglers
